OUR HISTORY
Chaco Alert is a program in service of the Chaco community.
History in the making

Quadriz and Investancia recognize the geographic barriers and healthcare challenges facing communities in the Paraguayan Chaco, shaped largely by the vast distances that hinder access to medical care. In response, they launch the Chaco Alert Program, an air transport service designed to address this need, while also showcasing the added benefits that carbon projects can bring to local communities.

The program's initial scope is defined, laying the operational groundwork for scaling the service to new areas of the Paraguayan Chaco. The following are established as service focal points: Fuerte Olimpo Regional Hospital, Puerto Casado District Hospital, and the Family Health Units of Carmelo Peralta, Puerto La Esperanza, Riacho Mosquito, and Puerto Pinasco.

Chaco Alert's formal and logistical structure is consolidated through an agreement signed by the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare, the Paraguayan Air Force, Quadriz, and Investancia. This milestone highlights the value of public-private collaboration as an effective model for addressing complex healthcare coverage challenges in highly vulnerable territories.
Healthcare infrastructure gap in the Paraguayan Chaco.
Extreme weather conditions, including scorching temperatures, prolonged droughts, and flooding, combined with poor road connectivity and vast distances across the Paraguayan Chaco, make emergency ground transport extremely difficult, critically extending travel times to higher-complexity medical centers.
Against this backdrop, the public health network operates throughout the region through facilities at different levels of care. However, for high-complexity or life-threatening cases, air logistics become essential to connect these facilities with specialized medical care.
The following is a breakdown of healthcare facilities by level of complexity in the Paraguayan Chaco:
- Family Health Unit (38)
- Health Posts (37)
- Health Centers (7)
- Regional Hospitals (3)
- District Hospitals (1)
- Dispensaries (1)
